Report directly to the Chief Creative Officer/President leading the Visual Merchandising teams and conceptualizing and developing VM concepts with distinct personalities for all brands -   J. Crew, Crewcuts, J. Crew Factory, and Madewell brands. 450+ stores. Strategically led the evolution of the VM POV for J. Crew by redefining the in-store experience to continue to increase brand awareness and contributing to exceeding financial goals, while launching 2 new brands.


  • Redefined the VM POV for the brand by implementing lifestyle merchandising concepts while focusing on key initiatives resulting in consistently exceeding financial goals.
  • Developed new merchandising vehicles and fixtures elevating the new brand image.
  • Improved efficiency and effectiveness by redefining the department structure, streamlining and reducing redundancies, resulting in a team of 30+ with high standards of excellence, high retention and promotability.
  • Collaborated with VP of Store Design on store configurations and fixture packages creating productive stores with details characteristic of local markets for a unique shopping experience.
  • Successfully launched J. Crew stores in international markets partnering with cross-functional leaders determining infrastructure, capitol and manpower. Canada, UK, Hong Kong, France.
  • Established specialty stores VM POV and personality by developing custom fixtures and exclusive shop concepts per location and market and partnering with Design, Merchandising. Planning and Allocation on assortments.
  • Concepted and implemented the “Mens Shops” merchandising POV including contributing to the overall aesthetic and layout of the freestanding locations in-store experience, raising the profile of the men’s brand which Increased in contribution from 18% to 30% of the total volume.
  • Collaborated on the concept, development and launch of the Madewell in-store experience including the Visual Merchandising POV, shop concepts, store design and fixture package, merchandising vehicles, and all aspects of the product presentation within the store environment. Strategically evolved the in-store experience package grew the VM team and established structure to support the growth of the brand to 80+ stores.
  •  Increased value perception of the Factory brand by elevating the in-store experience thru new VM concepts, presentations, fixtures and establishing a Field VM team -140 stores.
  • Partnered with Planning on assortments for new and existing stores to maximize profitability by providing recommended space allocation, depth, capacity and adding new businesses.
  • Developed and launched the Crew cuts VM POV within existing stores and freestanding locations by developing new merchandising vehicles and establishing presentation concepts.

Developed in-store environments, shop concepts, fixtures and prop packages for Flagship and high profile locations including store windows and interior environments that reinforced company brand and initiatives to be utilized as company Core Store direction. Created custom shop concepts to support key business categories through partnerships with Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Store Design, that reflected company positioning of business initiatives.


  • Established process to prototype seasonal VM themes, shop concepts, fixtures and merchandising techniques by utilizing quarterly Product Design shows as launch pad: Conceptualize, develop and produce installation.
  • Developed and managed rollout of Holiday Decor Prop Package for 800+ stores $1.1m budget.
  • Established department systems, processes, managed $3.1m budget.
  • Oversee concept, development and installation of seasonal Public Relations Editorial Showroom.
  • Launched 2001 Flagship Customization in-store shop concept by developing and leading project from concept to rollout: R & D, managing Business Partners, fixture package, styling point of view, marketing elements, sourcing talent, signoff, budget.
  • Implemented effective communication to stores ensuring a high standard of Visual Presentation and merchandising was installed and maintained: weekly photo directives, processes, workthroughs and store walkthroughs.

  • Collaborated directly with Creative Director to develop seasonal and monthly Visual Merchandising themes, concepts and techniques for U.S. stores.
  • Liaison to the Director of Merchandising on stores’ inventory levels and assortment ensuring clarity of offer and integrity of product based on individual store design and profile.
  • Successful launch of new stores, including new markets: developed merchandising plans, partnered with Distribution & Planning ensuring merchandise preparation and assortment, and travel to set up stores.
  • Set the standard of excellence for Visual Presentation with merchandising techniques implemented within region; ultimately used as company direction.
